And Even More Reindeers

I have had an excellent December, full of traveling and to be honest, I haven't had time to do my nails.. And for that reason you're seeing my last year's Christmas mani :)

And as always, since it's old and I don't have the polishes nearby I cannot give you the names.. But I'm sure in this case nobody actually cares :D

Winter Nails

Holiday season has arrived!
Time to bring out Michael Buble's Christmas album, advent calendars and gingerbread.
(Can you tell that I enjoy Christmas? :D)

Though now I live in South of Spain where snow is rarity, I wont let it bother me. For Christmas I am going back home to Estonia anyways! Can't wait to be with my family!

Le Chat Noir

So.. sometimes I still try actual painting on my nails, this is one of the recent results - Le Chat Noire

It was done with acrylic paint and sadly I had to leave those behind as well, so I haven't done anything recently (this is from like 1 year ago, I think). Nevertheless, I really like how it turned out :)

Peach & Flowers

Like I said, after coming to Spain, I only brought 5 nail polishes with me.. And then in here, the third day I went to KIKO's store and bought the ones that I had to leave home. This is one of my all time favorite peach tones with creme finish.

Polishes used:
Peach - Light Peach by KIKO
White - White Hot Love by Rimmel
Mint - Mint Milk by KIKO

Birthday Nails

Well, the title gives it away, it's my birthday today!!
And what better way to celebrate it than with a great manicure :)

Polishes used:
Blue - Denim Chrome by Wet N Wild
Silver holo - Holographic by GOSH (my all time favorite polish)
Holo shimmer - bought in a small random shop in France, no idea about the brand

I love turquoise mineral and my mother has a lot of jewelry with them, so it was given that at some point I will try to recreate it..

Polishes used:
Mint - Milk Mint by KIKO
Gold - Bold Gold by Maybelline
Black - Nail Art Tattoo Pen by Essence

For gold I used the saran wrap method, for black, I let the previous polishes to dry, then made some stripes, shapes with the nail art pen and smudged it with my finger, so it wouldn't be so dominant.

Pink & Gold

Like I probably mentioned, here in Spain I have very limited supply of nail polishes as well as tools.. So it's no wonder I go back to the combinations that I know work. Here's pink & gold and of course some nail tape :D

Polishes used:
Pink - Kiss Me I'm Brazilian by O.P.I
Gold - Bold Gold by Maybelline
Gold shimmer - from H&M

One from the vaults.. When I still had long and healthy nails. I don't know what's wrong with my nails now, they just won't grow and split.

Anyways, this is a mani from a year ago, one of my favorites. It's simple, but I just love how it looks

I used purple/violet for the base, but in the picture it looks more like blue, the black is acrylic paint and everything else is from KIKO cosmetics (I know, I mention it almost all of my posts.. I just like their coverage :D)

Flamenco Inspired

I've been living in southern Spain for over half a year now and this was one of the first manicures inspired by the flamenco dresses and flowers that the dancers sometimes wore in their hair

I rushed it with top coat, which sadly smudged the dots.

Polishes used:
Purple - From Naughty or Nice set by Essence
White - White Hot Love by Rimmel
Green - Mint Milk by KIKO

Like I mentioned in my previous post, I am in love with Essence's Nail Art Tattoo Pen. This was the second thing after Blue(print) that I did. Pretty simple again, but I just loved it!!

Polishes used:
Pink - Pink Boom by Maybelline (also it's an inexpensive dupe for O.P.I Kiss Me I'm Brazilian)
Black dots - some random black nail polish
Black flowers - Essence Nail Art Tattoo Pen

Elephant in the Room

Happy Friday, ladies! This is from my nail art vaults, done about a year ago. I still find it cute. Maybe I should try to recreate it using more depth..?

Polishes used:
Gray - Anchorage by Wild N Crazy
Pink - from HEMA

Mint & Gold

After moving I only took with me one roll of nail tape.. And then I completely forgot about it. Till one day when I went trough my drawers and spotted it. So of course, I needed to use it right away.

(My previous post that I also used nail tape Hello Autumn was made more than a year ago)

 Polishes used:
Mint - Mint Milk by KIKO (who can tell that this is one of my favorite polishes :D)
Gold - From Primark PS line (it's more foil-y or shimmer than a real gold, but nevertheless, I like it)

Friday, October 9, 2015

My recent favorite purchase has been Essence's Nail Art Tattoo Pen. I bought it and started thinking all the complicated things that I could do with it... And then I came home and did this.
Not complicated at all, but pretty :)

The only bad thing was that I guess I put the top coat on too quickly because it smudged the black

Polishes used:
Blue - It was a set of Daisy Nails from Primark (it came with a white and yellow nail art polishes)
White - White Hot Love by Rimmel
Silver - Holographic by GOSH
Silver glitter - One of three polishes from the set Got My List? by Essence
Black - Nail Art Tattoo Pen

Splattering around

Sometimes it's just nice to be messy and splatter the paint arond

Polishes used:
Blue - Shocking Seas by Maybelline
Gold - No29 Dore Orfevre by Yves Saint Laurent

This splatter is done using a straw dipped in nail polish and then I blew in it. Messy.. But I love the result

Also, thank you all for the tips on gradients, well wishes for my new job and most of all - welcome my new followers :)

First Try With Mandalas

This was my first try doing mandala pattern on my nails. I'm quite happy how it came out. Though I still can't get the hang of gradient nails. If you have any tips/advice, then please, let me know! :D

Polishes used:
White - White Hot Love by Rimmel
Pink - Kiss Me I'm Brazilian by O.P.I
Peach - Light Peach by KIKO Cosmetics
Black - acrylic paint
Glitter - small golden glitter polish from H&M

And well, to my current 2 followers - I started a new job and though I will try to keep up with the posting, there might be some gaps here and there until I get the hang of it, but I will try my best :)

I want to introduce you to my favorite purple/violet nail polish - Lilac from KIKO Cosmetics

In the picture there is more blue-tint to it than in real life, where it looks lighter.. Well, just like the name says - it looks lilac.

French Leopard

Well there is french tip.. and there is leopard pattern.. French Leopard seems like an appropriate title in my opinion :)

Everything is done freehand

I'm gonna be honest.. I really don't remember which polishes I used. It was done a long time ago, and since then sadly I have been parted with my beloved drawer full of polishes. It was very sheer nude, light blue, black and silver.. But it's the pattern that counts, right?

And I bought the stamping plate from a tiny tiny bazar type of shop in Sevilla.

Stripy Start

Hello and welcome to Sandra's Showcase!

My name is Sandra and I am addicted to nail polish.

I used to be an avid blogger about two-three years ago, but since my skills and nail art has changed, I decided not to continue with my previous blog and start a new one instead.

I sincerely hope that this blog will continue to grow and improve and the followers that I had on my previous one, at least some will follow my new attempts in nail art here.

And with that short introduction, let's get this party started! And what's the better way than to start off with some bright colors and stripes.

Polishes used:
White - 3 coats of Maybelline Color Show Porcelain Party
Yellow - 1 coat of Mereneid yellow nail polish
Black stripes - 2 coats of H&M Manhunter
